Name & hometown of each team member:

Keith Swinton, Perth, Australia & Gothenburg, Sweden

Olof Lundgren, Gothenburg, Sweden

Ted Hackney, Sydney, Australia

Jakob Gustafsson, Vasteras, Sweden

Ricky McGarvie, Melbourne, Australia

BSR Korea 13

Describe your team in 3 adjectives:

Determined, fun, competitive

What is your team’s favorite boat/venue to sail on the Tour? Why?

Our favourite event is Stena Match Cup Sweden. It’s our home event in a way so we really enjoy having some support there

We really enjoy sailing the KM 36 in Korea, F36 in Malaysia and the Ds 37 in Sweden

How did you become a team?

We became a team over a long period. Myself and Jakob have been sailing together the longest since 2008, whilst Ted only joined us last year. We all have a similar ambition to be involved with high level sailing and that is what brought us together.

We are all from different cities which is quite unusual but it has all fallen together really well.

What is one thing you always carry on the boat with you?

Tool bag, food

If you had a team mascot, what would it be?

The Black Swan I guess

What is your team’s favorite song?

Hmm sometimes when we are waiting for wind Ricky will play classical music which is pretty funny considering we are a young team. However I think our song would probably be Girls by Kid Cudi or Lost by Frank Ocean

Other than sailing, what sport would your team most likely excel at?

To be honest I don’t think we would be too flash at any other sport. The Swedes are good on the ski’s and perhaps we are reasonable with the backyard cricket.

What are you looking forward to most about Chicago?

Looking forward to some big American dinners, Blues bars and maybe baseball.

What is the best sailing advice you’ve been given?

Best sailing advice Jibs are for upwind, kites are for downwind. Match racing teaches you to put mistakes behind you and continue on.

What is your team’s favorite boat and / or venue to sail on the Tour? Why?

Ooooh, that was difficult, I don’t know, maybe one of Matteos “lucky socks”

Skiing
